Dugger v. Bocock, 104 U.S. 596 (1881)

Dugger v. Bocock

104 U.S. 596

Syllabus

Inasmuch as a federal question is not involved in the determination of the case, this Court leas no jurisdiction to reexamine the decree of a state court dismissing a hill brought by the vendor of lands in Alabama who prayed that the sale of them be set aside solely on the ground that two installments of the purchase money had been paid in the treasury notes of the Confederate States and the last in Confederate bonds, the notes having been received in the usual course of business, and the bonds under such circumstances as almost amounted to coercion.

The facts are stated in the opinion of the Court.
