Syllabus

A conveyance of lands in Alabama to a married woman, "to have and to hold to the sole and proper use, benefit, and behoof of her, her heirs and assigns forever," vests in her, under the laws of that state, a statutory separate estate, and a mortgage of the lands, executed by her and her husband to secure the payment of his debts, is void.
